Mitochondrial Oxidative Stress State Analysis

Disruption of mitochondrial function and homeostasis can also lead to diseases of the nervous system, heart and muscle. It is generally believed that cell aging is closely related to senile diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, diabetes and tumors, while mitochondria affect aging related diseases by regulating cell aging.

Mitochondria and ROS play an important role in physiological and pathological processes. A variety of methods have been developed to detect mitochondria and ROS. At present, the detection methods of mitochondria include mitochondrial genome sequencing, respiratory control, mitochondrial ATP production rate, membrane potential and so on. In addition, the morphological and quantitative changes of mitochondria can be directly observed through the electron microscope.

Creative Bioarray provides mitochondrial oxidative stress detection services. Our tests can be performed using a variety of systems, from primary cells to isolated mitochondria, and can be used to demonstrate improved metabolic function or reduce the risk of potential toxins. Our scientists are also experts in designing biochemical related experimental models to study changes in cell metabolism in the context of cancer, metabolic syndrome and other diseases with bioenergy challenges.

Mitochondrial Biogenesis

The measurement of mitochondrial biogenesis is becoming a standard part of drug safety characterization. Our analysis measures biogenesis by measuring the ratio of mitochondrial to nuclear encoded proteins.

  • In-Cell ELISA with fluorescence, colorimetric or fluorometric readout
  • Western blot antibody cocktail
  • ICC antibody cocktail
  • Flow cytometry antibody cocktail

Mitochondrial Viability

Mitochondrial membrane potential is a key indicator of mitochondrial activity. Due to the membrane potential, many fluorescent dyes can accumulate in mitochondria.

  • TMRE/ TMRM(Plate reader, microscope, flow cytometer)
  • JC-1/ JC-10(Plate reader, microscope, flow cytometer)
  • MitoNIR(Plate reader, flow cytometer)
  • Mito Orange(Plate reader, flow cytometer)

OXPHOS Enzyme Complex Activity Assays

In order to study the in vitro activity of single OXPHOS enzyme complexes, we used Immunocapture technique to perform specific biochemical analysis on each complex (Complex I, Complex II, Complex III, Complex IV, Complex V, Complete panel)

OXPHOS Protein Expression Analysis

We have developed antibody cocktails for use in western blotting to enable analysis of all 5 oxphos protein complexes in a single experiment.

  • Complex I-V antibody cocktail
  • Complex II antibody cocktail
