Ascorbic Acid Assay (FRASC) Service
Ascorbic acid is a vital water-soluble antioxidant found in living organisms. Ascorbic acid is critical for a variety of functions related to tissue growth and wound healing, neurotransmitter formation, blood cholesterol levels, as well as free radical neutralization.
Specifically differentiates ascorbic acid content from other antioxidant compounds. Detects ascorbic acid concentrations as low as 1.56 µM. Suitable for use with serum, plasma, urine, saliva, tissue homogenates, cell extracts, and purified food or drug extracts. Each sample replicate requires 2 assays for proper data calculation.
Cell Based Exogenous Antioxidant Assay Service
For measuring the activity of an exogenous antioxidant compound within adherent cells. Cells are first cultured in a 96-well black fluorescence cell culture plate until confluent. Then the cells are pre-incubated with a cell-permeable DCFH-DA fluorescence probe dye, or the antioxidant sample being tested. After a brief incubation, the cells are washed, and the reaction started by adding the Free Radical Initiator. The Free Radical Initiator creates free radicals that convert the probe to highly fluorescent DCF. The inhibits the formation of free radicals, and thus DCF formation, in a concentration dependent manner.
Chitosan Assay Service
Chitosan is a linear polysaccharide that has a number of useful applications, including blocking fungal infections in plants, preventing wine spoilage, reducing bleeding in bandages, and in drug delivery systems. We provide a convenient microplate-based method for the detection of Chitosan in food, animal, or plant samples.
Detect Chitosan concentrations as low as 6.25 µg/ml.
Suitable for use with serum, urine, or shell extracts.
Flavonoid Assay Service
Flavonoids are an array of polyphenolic compounds that have been shown to be involved in a number of pharmacological reactions. More than 5000 naturally occurring flavonoids have been discovered in various plants and may exhibit antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and/or antiviral capabilities.
Detection sensitivity of 2 µg/mL of Quercetin equivalents.

Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Assay Service
Hydrogen sulfide has been shown to have nucroprotective and cardioprotective properties, lowering oxidative stress by increasing levels of glutathione by enhancing cystine and cysteine transport to neurons. The service is suitable for use with samples containing a hydrogen sulfide donor, such as enzymes, cells or tissues.
Total Thiol Assay Service
Thiols represent the largest part of the overall antioxidant pool in animals and are found in such compounds as glutathione, cysteine, and homocysteine. Our Total Thiol Assay service is suitable for use with serum, plasma, biological samples, and lysates.
